Eugene Reed Obituary

Eugene "Gene" Reed Alamo, TX Eugene "Gene" Reed, 86, died September 1, 2009 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Kokomo, IN, he had lived in Alamo. Gene was a US Army Veteran having served in WWII. Mr. Reed was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Kay Reed; his parents, Howard and Onda Reed; and a sister, Louvell Hall. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Reed of Alamo; three children, Ramsey Gene Reed of Charlotte, NC, Randolph Lee Reed of Delton, MI and Pamela Pray Joyner of Memphis, TN; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, David Duane Reed of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Gloria Western of Hastings, MI. A Memorial Mass was held Monday, September 7, 2009 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.

Dear Lucy and family,
Shirley and I were so saddened upon receiving the news of Gene's passing. Gene was such a good person and I will miss talking to my friend. Our friendship of 65 years has given us many great memories. God bless you and your family.

to the reed family my condolences on your loss your husband father and grandfather was a great person i had a pleasure meeting him when i worked at alamo country club i was the custodian there for 5 yrs he will be greatly missed take care of your self lucy. love ya steven reyes.
