Bertha Elizabeth Gauthier Nashville Bertha Elizabeth (Shupp) Chlebowski Gauthier, 90, of Nashville, MI, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, MI. She was born November 13, 1918 in Ross Township, MI. Bertha owned her own Beauty Shop in her home in Hastings and also was a beautician at White's Beauty Shop in Battle Creek for 28 years. Bertha is survived by nieces: Elaine (Loren) Clemence of Battle Creek, MI and Genevieve "Jenny" (Lawrence) Lowell of Plano, TX; nephew: David Burtnett of Climax, MI; 8 Great Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her Parents: Lyman "Lynn" and Ethel (Keeler) Shupp; Husbands: Eugene Chlebowski (1988) and Leon J. Gauthier (1992); Sister: Evelyn Burtnett; Brothers: Kenneth Kopf and Richard Kopf Bertha was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she also belonged to the "50 Plus club". She enjoyed sewing, crafts and formerly enjoyed flower gardening and square dancing. She was an avid reader and was proud to help and befriend the shut-ins. She enjoyed entertaining and was a fabulous cook. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Rev. Carolyn Robinson-Fisher of Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
