Wallace Birmingham Obituary

Wallace P. Birmingham Battle Creek Wallace P. Birmingham, 77, of Battle Creek passed away Friday November 13, 2009 at home. He was born on October 10, 1932 in Cedar Lake, MI to James G. and Mary Ann (Horvath) Birmingham. Wallace served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1954. He married Lois L. Deer on May 20, 1955, she preceded him in death in 2006. Wallace was employed by the Rock Tenn Paper Company for 45 years, retiring in 1997. Wallace is survived by his children, Linda Rittle, of Fresh Meadows, NY; Terry Berry, of New Orleans, LA; Jim (Brenda) Birmingham, of Battle Creek, MI; Wallace (Renee) Birmingham Jr. of Gonzales, CA; Mela Morgan, of Marshall, MI; Lisa (Richard) Smith, of Galesburg, MI; Todd Birmingham, of Hubert, NC; Michelle ( Kevin) Green, of Battle Creek, MI; thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, brothers, John Birmingham, of Dowling, and Clayton (Donna) Birmingham, of Battle Creek, and a sister, Judy (Denny) Campbell, of Trail, OR. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother James Birmingham, and a sister, Barbara Lucas. Wallace enjoyed gardening, traveling, casinos, and woodworking, having built his own home. Family will receive friends one hour before services, at 1p.m. Tuesday November 17, 2009 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Richard O. Collins of Wattles Park Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery, Barry County. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
