I'm thinking of Marilyn today. I was one of the children she took such excellent care of in the '90s and early '00s. I affectionately called her "Mowwie." I have so many fond memories of our time together. I think of her on her birthday every year. I will always miss her.

It's quiet, there is a distinct quiet around me. Among all the craziness, the talking, the questions, the decisions, the tears. The quiet is what I feel. I haven't heard your voice since Sunday. I feel your calm presence all around me. It has been five days since we have spoken. I have the echo of your voice in my ears. Your strength in my heart. The quiet is what I feel. There is one less voice in the air. Your calm presence is all around me, it is what I feel. Marilyn Goveia 5/23/08 2:06am

I will miss Marilyn so very much. As her pastor, I had the great privilege of getting to know and love Marilyn. When I think of Marilyn's name I think of M-for mother, she loved her children and grandchildren so very much, A-attentive - she was always there for her friends (especially Victoria Pacheco)R-ready to help and respond to those in need, I-inquisitive, Marilyn was always asking questions,L-easy - loving and likeable, Y-you, it was always about you not me - Marilyn was always intereted about others not herself and finally, N-no-non-sense - you always knew where you stood with Marilyn and that meant if she said she loved you there was no need to question. Now she is with the Lord Jesus Christ and I look forward to the day when we will all meet again. Blessings to you Martelli family, Pastor Norm Townsend

Marilyn,Maria, Michael and Frankie: I don't know where to begin. Your mom was a
whole part of my life. When I was little and Mal and I had sleepovers.
Her coming to my parents' for different events and the card games. Even when I got older and still went over Allen Street all the time. Sunday
dinners, Scrabble, the list would go on forever. Times on Madison St.
Even some holidays with the LeShanes. How she and Tom had the same
birthday and always sent him a card. My heart is feeling heavy now. She
will be sorely missed. I loved her. I feel your pain, she was certainly
a very, very special lady. Anyone that knew her was blessed.
Love from your cousin,
Debbie (and Tom, Erin and Tommy

Auntie Mal was more like a grandmother to me than a second Aunt. I will forever cherish memories from my childhood and times around the fire at the family reunions at Dad's. She was always quite the firecracker! :) Her loss is truly felt. My love goes out to my family and her friends. XO

A chapter in Marilyn’s life was dedicated to being a close friend to my mother, Vicky.
They wore out many Scrabble boards together and more importantly, made life an adventure.
