Eleanor, you've been gone these many years and my heart still aches to hear your loud crashing voice welcoming us back to your B & B. You'll always be alive as long as I live, and missed every day of it. My dearest friend since we were two, the path we built through the years between our cottages is still there in my heart. Why didn't you listen when I said "no one dies before me". Everyday Ellie I think of you and miss you, it's lonely in this world without you. I did my best to keep an eye on Ricky, I don't think he really had the heart to carry on after you were gone, but he's with you now and that's as good as it gets.
Love you Ellie, same as since we were two years old.

To Ricky, Family & friends.
Eleanor will be missed.
I can remember the first time meeting Eleanor. I was about 5 years old and my Dad & I went over to Eleanor and Ricky's house to work on the oil furnace.
When I was older my first job was working at the Drive In,
Flea Market. I worked seven years with Eleanor and I wish I could thank Eleanor in person for the references she gave out when I moved away. Thank her for the small going away party that she and some of my coworkers had for me. Most of all turning me in to the hard worker I am today. Thank you Eleanor!
The thing I remember and miss most about Eleanor is she was always Happy.

To Ricky and all of your family,
Please know that we are as saddened for your loss as we are thankful for knowing your mom over the 20+ years that we sold our plants at the flea market. Strength of character and integrity, sincerity and honesty = Eleanor Hazen. Our prayers are with you.

To Eleanor's family and friends:
I am one of Eleanor's high school classmates and long time friend. I send my deepest sympathies. We will miss her greatly. Eleanor was a unique, active and caring person who added much color, flavor and humor to the lives of all those around her and to all those who knew her well. She was one of the most enthusiastic and ebullient members of our Bronxville High School class. She looked forward to our High School reunions with great enthusiasm, pitched in to help organize them, and was a gleeful participant in all the reunions that I can remember. I am so gratified that she was able to make our last reunion, but I have a heavy heart that she will not be physically present at the next one. I know that she will be there with us in spirit and in our minds, but her physical absence will be felt. I wish her family and friends all the best.

My condolences to Eleanors family - I had the pleasure of meeting Eleanor and her basset hounds back in the early '90's, she was always a very pleasant person and always took the time to stop and say hi when I would see her at the drive in. I think I'll wear my shorts one day this winter in her memory (brrr). Eleanor, you'll be missed but not forgotten!

Ricky and Family,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Eleanor's passing. I always admired Eleanor for her strength of character and spirit. Eleanor was an inspiration to me when she would rise at Town meetings to speak on many issues and affairs - I frequently thought she was the "voice of reason". I will miss her very much and extend my heartfelt condolences.

To Eleanor's family, I am a proud member of the Class of '57...It truly was a blessing that Eleanor was able to live her life on her terms in a way that brought happiness to herself and those she cared about. It would seem she touched each of us in a very special way. I hope her beloved bassetts rode in her place in the Fourth of July parade! You must be very proud of your mom, Ricky. She holds a special place in the hearts of many.

Eleanor was a one of a kind person and I will always appreciate the work ethic that she has given to both of my boys during there years working at the theater and flea market with her. You are now leading and teaching somewhere else and forever my kids will think of you when I tell them to do something "chop chop"
Ricky, may god bless you and keep you well.

Ricky -
I am so sorry for your loss. Eleanor was a great woman. She taught me to never give up, and also to believe that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. She gave me courage and strength. I will never forget her for as long as I live.
God Bless you Ricky, and the rest of your family, at this difficult time.
I will miss you Eleanor.
Love, Jamie

I wanted to offer my condolances on Eleanor's passing. Eleanor was always welcoming with an enthusiastic greeting during my visits to the drive-in during the winter months!
It is without exageration that both Eleanor and Don established standards at the Wellfleet Drive-In Theatre that few, if any, other exhibitors have even attempted to equal!

I will truly miss seeing Eleanor all over wearing her shorts and riding her bike. Her lovely warm smile and shining blue eyes. She was a wonderful woman. Without her Wellfleet Flea Market, I and many others , would not have had a means to earn money every summer for so many years. God bless you and your family.

Ricky,
My thoughts are will you and your family during this sad time. It's hard to imagine going to the Flea Market and not seeing your mom riding that bike or hearing her voice yelling for you over the speakers. She was firm but always had a soft way about her. She'd be the first to notice if I wasn't feeling well and would force me to sit and rest, even if I didn't want to. She always made me laugh. I'll miss her.

Class of '57
Eleanor lived up the road from me . My dog fell in love with her and decided to move in with her! We would walk home from school and talk about anything from religion to rock'n roll! And always, there was laughter. Eleanor, direct and ahead of her tiem;she had the best sense of humor fo any woman I've known(well, maybe excepting my Mom!)

Ricky,
One of our summer highlights is always visiting the flea market and stopping to chat with Eleanor. My brother David is coming to the Cape this summer and was looking forward to doing the same. We are so sorry to have learned of her untimely death.
For years, one of the most amusing signposts on the way north on Rt. 6 was the sign in Eleanor's driveway that said "Aunt Hattie's Punch Bowl" (my great grandmother Harriet Faulkner).
Eleanor was one of a kind. We will miss her.
With sincerest condolences from your cousins, Lesley Hill and husband Alan Stone

Dear Ricky, Please know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Your Mother was a warm and generous woman. We will always remember her skating down to the beach house to give us of the latest movie reviews and the best buys at the Flea Market. Surely she is at the most beautiful of heavenly beaches.
