Marie Jaques Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 29, 2007.
SOUTH DENNIS - Marie L Jaques passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 25 after a long illness.

She was the beloved wife of Chester (Chet) A. Jaques for 51 years.

Born to Sewell C. Rose Sr. and Adeline Mae Rose in Wollaston, she was a graduate of North Quincy High School and Burdette Business School of Boston.

She worked for Packard Auto in Brookline and S.H. Couch in North Quincy before moving to South Dennis in 1968 to raise her family. She loved the beach and enjoyed many summers on Cape Cod at Grindell's and Camper's Haven on Old Wharf Road.

She lived for her children, husband and friends. She will be remembered for always sending a note to let you know she was thinking about you in both happy and sad times. She was empathetic, giving, kind and enjoyed a good laugh. She loved her work with special needs children.

She was active in the Dennis Babe Ruth Auxiliary and served as treasurer and president for the Y-D Youth Hockey Auxiliary in the '70s. She was an accomplished knitter and enjoyed creating sweaters for her grandchildren.

Besides her husband she is survived by her son William F. Jaques and his wife Melissa of South Yarmouth, and her daughter Lisa Ladner and her husband Jeffrey of Sandwich, as well as seven grandchildren Will Jaques, Brandon Jaques, Taylor Jaques, Jeffrey Ladner Jr., Matthew Ladner, Courtney Ladner, and Timothy Ladner. She is also survived by her brother Sewell C. Rose and his wife Judy of Brewster as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Walter N. Rose.

Her family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and staff at Eagle Pond Rehabilitation and Nursing Home for their care and kindness to Marie during her stay.

Friends and relatives are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth on Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cape Church, Stony Brook Road, Brewster.
