Robert Downing Obituary
He leaves his wife, Ann Downing of Harwich; daughter, Kathleen Downing of Harwich; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Jose Leruth of Southborough; grandchildren, Alexander and Caitlin Leruth of Southborough; brother, Richard Downing of Gilmanton, N.H.; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Alyce Downing of East Sandwich; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Barbara Erwin of Yarmouthport; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was passionate about his family. To him, his family was the center of his life. His family deeply loved him and will cherish his memory forever.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main St., (Route 28), West Harwich. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Holy Trinity Church, Route 28, West Harwich, on Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at 10 a.m. Burial is in Evergreen Cemetery, East Harwich, following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Dear Aunt Ann, I remember a long time ago being the other R. Downing in Lexington and getting calls from Uncle Bob telling me my friends were looking for me. He never minded playing operator for me and I'll always remember his kind smile and his pleasant words. I miss him greatly already. Love Robin
