Luciel Chambers Obituary
Mrs. Chambers, of Charlotte, NC, passed away August 7, 2009. Funeral service Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 1:00PM at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church visitation one hour prior, burial will be at York Memorial Park.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Mrs. Charlotte D. Kates (William) of Goldsboro, NC, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and special close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
Alexander Funeral Home, Inc. is serving the family.

Aunt Lucille i will always have you with me you has been wonderful aunt to me the many many time we travel the highway from charlotte to chester and union counties we shared many stories i learned so much about you and our family on our last trip to goldsboro nc you told us you were going home i didn't want to believe it and didn't want to hear it but your spirit was true, i know you are at home with the lord and i will never forget you and one day we will travel together again

We are writing to express our condolensces to the family as we honor the homegoing of our own, Sister Chambers. We are convinced that God, Himself, is the giver of all life and love, and that He will encourage and strengthen our hearts during this time of bereavement.

I met Luciel at Autumn's Place Apartments and I always enjoyed talking with her. She always had something encouraging to say to everybody she came in contact with. She served as President of our residence Auxiliary Committee and she took pride in what she was doing and always spoke up for our rights with the Housing Authority. When I talked with her two weeks ago, I felt in my spirit that would be the last time we would talk and the Lord did invite her home on August 7th.
I will miss her very much and may she rest in peace.

I'm going to miss sister McNeel. It does not seem right looking at the empty chair on the front row. And hearing the strong voice encouraging the pastor to preach! I will miss her smile and instructions!
