Madeline S. Giles

Madeline Shackelford Giles of Charlottesville passed away Monday, August 18, 2008, at the Hospice Home of Charlottesville.

She was born in Charlottes-ville, daughter of the late John Overton and Daisy Smith Shackelford. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd W. Giles.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Circle 5.

Survivors include several cousins and her dear friend Jeanne Flippo Bailes.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Monticello Memory Gardens with the Dr. Harry Kennon officiating, assisted by Chaplain David Flack.

Any memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 2200 Old Ivy Road Suite 200, Charlottes-ville, VA 22903; or to a charity of your choice.

Hill and Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Madeline was a dear sweet lady. It was my pleasure to have known she and Lloyd. Lloyd was my boss in the late 50's. My deepest sympathy to her many friends. Past Doe President 2001-2003.
