OBITUARY
Stanley Aron Coburn (78), of Roswell, Georgia, passed away on March 27, 2026, after a courageous and prolonged battle against cancer.

Stan was born on July 18, 1947, to Matthew and Stella Coburn in Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 1969, he earned his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Virginia in 1972.

Stan's professional journey began at Troutman Sanders when he moved to Atlanta and embarked on a remarkable 50-year career as a highly respected trial attorney. Specializing in insurance defense litigation, he earned an AV rating, a testament to his expertise and dedication in the field. He was a distinguished and well-respected member of the Metro Atlanta legal community and a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the American Bar Association. He was well-known for his brilliant legal mind and deep understanding of litigation law.

His quick wit and sense of humor brought conversations to life, making him someone that everyone genuinely loved to be around. He had a deep love for the law that lasted throughout his career, but sadly, illness eventually forced him to step away and retire in 2025.

Stanley also possessed a profound affection for horses, and he dedicated a significant portion of his early adult years participating in equestrian competitions and exploring the trails of the Charlottesville, Virginia, countryside.

Above all else, his deepest love was reserved for his family and children. They were his top priority, and he dedicated himself to providing for and protecting them with unwavering passion and selflessness.

Stanley was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Matthew and Stella Coburn. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, JoAnn Harrison Coburn. He leaves behind his cherished children: Brett Coburn and his wife, Adele, Kimberly Coburn, Harrison Coburn, Carson Coburn, and his grandchildren, Henry and Adele Coburn. His legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A graveside service to honor Stanley's life will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Green Lawn Cemetery, located at 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia, 30076. A reception will follow at the Coburn residence.
