George Donald Haney

George Donald Haney, 75 of Gordonsville, died Sunday, August 30, 2009, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Born March 3, 1934, he was a son of the late George Basil Haney and Christine Knight Haney. He was the husband of the late Edna Frances Haney.

Mr. Haney is survived by two daughters; Georgette Whittaker of Gordonsville, Diane Acree and husband, Kenny, of Lake Monticello; four sons, George G. Haney and wife, Kristi, of Spotsylvania, Steven D. Haney and wife, Sandy, of Stanardsville, Walter Brian Haney of Gordonsville, Gordon Scott Haney and wife, Vivian, of Ruckersville; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Haney of Stafford and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Wayne Haney and a brother, Basil Churchill Haney.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at his home located at 4506 James Madison Highway in Gordonsville.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening, September 2, 2009, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville.

I am so sorry you lost your Dad. He had a good long life and is at peace now and reunited with Frances and KennyWayne. You all stay connected and keep the beloved Haney family strong. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
