William Vick Obituary
Kendall: William Leon Vick, age 69 of Kendall, died suddenly Saturday October 18, 2008. Mr. Vick was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the Kendall Fire Department. As an active community servant, Bill served as an Orleans County Legislator, an Administrator in Kendall Town Government, and was a member of the Kendall Lions Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sheryl L. (Preston) Vick; his children: Valerie (Edward) Gaesser, Jeffrey (Tresel) Vick, Shawn (Karen) Vick, Robin (Randy) Bower; his grandchildren: Amanda, Jenna, Laura, Rebecca and Evan Gaesser, Zachary, Preston, and Tessa Vick, Ian, and Challiss Vick, Jessica and Jacob Bower; his siblings: Marilyn Reynolds, Thomas (Christy) Vick, Patricia (Robert) Pitcher; and his aunt: Marion Vick.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 West Albion Road (Rt. 31)-Holley, FRIDAY 4-7 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend Bill's Funeral Service SATURDAY 11 a.m. in Concordia Lutheran Church-Kendall. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church, The Kendall Fire Department, of the Northstar Sportsman Club. Bill Vick was a great person to know and work with. I had the pleasure of knowing him first as an Orleans County Legislator many years ago. My father introduced him to me and when I was involved in county government we became good friends. He will be missed. May his family be comforted by God's grace. Sheryl and Family,
Bill and I go way back including our Confirmation Class at Concordia where we misbehaved terribly. He and I enjoyed our status as class clowns throughout the years. He had a quick wit and displayed his intelligence readily. His excellent handwriting skills, unusual for most men, still awe me. Sheryl, when we think of Bill, we think of you both together as a team. May you find comfort from your family and good and true Kendall friends. The world was better because Bill was in it! I know he will be missed by many. We send our prayers to you and yours.
