Dolores Castelli Obituary

Castelli, Dolores (Bennett)
Penfield: October 26, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph; parents, John and Genevieve Bennett. She is survived by daughters, Deborah (Richard) Proctor, Lynda Castelli (Donald Alt); and son, John (Michelle) Castelli. She leaves her loving granddaughters, Kristine (Joseph) Johnson, Lisa Proctor (Travis Tripodi) and Kimberly Alt; sister, Marilyn Graffrath; brothers-in-law, Anthony and James V. Castelli; sister-in-law, Mary Salvati; many nieces and nephews.
Dee graduated from RIT and in her life she was a professional candle maker a founding member of the Chandler's International as well as a founding member of the International Guild of Candle Artisans. She was a Girl Scout Leader for several years. She was co-owner with her husband of Castelli's Village Inn in Newark. She most recently was a Realtor with Nothnagle Realtors. She was involved with the Newark Chamber of Commerce for many years, serving as Past President, board member, on the economic development committee and a recipient of the President's Award numerous times. She was a founding member of the Wayne County Business Council, served on the Newark Planning Board and was a member of several other organizations over the years.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the doctors and staff of the Lipson Cancer Center as well as the Fairport Baptist Homes.
Friends may call at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd., Sunday, 3-6 P.M. Dee's Funeral Mass will be held Monday 10:30 at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lipson Cancer Center Treatment Room, 1425 Portland Ave., Roch., NY 14621, or St. Michael's School, 401 S. Main St., Newark, NY 14513.

Dear Marilyn and Delores's family: She was a member of my class of 1950 from Mercy High School. I spoke to her recently and wanted to visit; at the same time it did not work out. I am out of town but want to express my sympathy to you all on this sad event.
