It is now almost three years after Sara's tragic death and I still fondly remember her kindness to me in arranging a classroom for me to use with my legal research class when I was teaching at Pratt.

I have only known Sara through a long friendship with her sister, Anne. When I went back through some old photos this week I came across a photo of her dancing at Anne's wedding. At the moment I viewed this photo, I recalled the warmth and sincerity I felt during the few times I met her. She was the eldest of 4 amazing women siblings who will celebrate her life and wisdom as well as mourn a tremendous loss in their family. I know, based upon what I know and have read, that she left this world not only too soon but with a legacy that too few are able to emulate.
My deep condolences to the entire Robbin's family.

I offer my sympathy to Kay, Dan, their children and the entire extended family on the loss of a beloved sister and aunt. I never had the benefit of meeting Sara but I can only surmise from the beautiful tributes herein that she was a sweet, special person who was a professional who strove to help others. I also know Sara's sister Kay and the depth of sincerity and love of family she embodies. I suspect it is a family trait which Sara also exhibited. I know she will be missed and I only hope that with time the family's ache will be replaced by the joy of memories. I admire that the family was able to observe a simcha in the midst of this pain... that is the circle of life. Please know that my thoughts are with you, Debra Levine (co worker of Kay)

Sara was a wonderful person and wonderful law librarian. She was always helpful to me whenever I spoke with her on an issue. I visited her library often as it is just a few blocks from my sister-in-law's apartment.
I wish I could have made it to the service.
Sara will be greatly missed.

I first met Sara in 1984, when I entered our profession. She was unfailingly helpful to me over the years, most recently when she shared insights about the tenure process. Sara was known for being an excellent library director and for serving as a mentor to her staff. I will miss seeing her at meetings and sharing news about our families. My sincere condolences to Sara's family.

Dear Robbins Family,
I am so saddened by the news of Sara's death and cannot even imagine how devastating this is for all of you. Sara talked about her family, her sisters, her nephews, her dad and her step-mom often. She would show me needlework that she was working on for her family members. I had plans to meet Sara at this year's ALS conference--as we always met at each conference- for dinner and a couple of hours of needlepointing. i cannot even believe that she is gone from us. I will miss her terribly. She was one of the most wonderful and understanding people that I have ever had the honor of calling my friend. Peace and warm memories to comfort all of you in your sorrow. Love to all, Filippa Marullo Anzalone

Sara lived across the street from me when we were children and I remember her as being very kind and thoughtful. I am deeply saddened by her loss and my heart goes out to her family. From what I've read it seems as though she accomplished a lot in her short life and all who knew her loved her. My deepest condolences and hope Ann Marlene and Kay will cherish and remember the great memories.

Please accept my sympathy on Sara's passing. I went to Jr. High and High School with Sara. Years later we ended up in the same profession of law librarianship and saw each other at AALL (Annual meetings). She was always a sweetheart. I looked for her this past year in St. Louis and wondered why she wasn't there. I'm so sorry to find out she passed on.

I did not know Sara well, but got to know her through various professional meetings and events. What impressed me most was the fact that SHE remembered ME. After first sharing a cab from the airport at an AALL meeting, she never failed to have a friendly, welcoming smile and interest to chat when our paths would cross again. We who were privileged to know her will miss Sara in so many ways.
My sincere condolences to Sara's entire family. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

I was shocked to learn of Sara's
tragic death. We knew each other
through a close mutual friend and
we immediately became friends as a
result of our love of needlepointing. I saw Sara only
a few days ago and am happy that we
hugged goodbye and wished each other
all good things. I will always
remember our parting. May she
find peace. My deepest sympathy

Sara will be remembered among law librarians as the epitome of the forward-looking staff builders; her public services programs were the envy of New York law libraries. She was the master at identifying and nurturing talented team builders. In our close knit community, we looked to her as a leader.
Sara was also the center of a group of directors who socialized together at plays and dinners. We expected her to find the new offbeat restaurant and to get us together. We will miss her terribly!
Having left NYU for UF, I'd already been grieving for the companionship of the Robbins/Roehrenbeck/Wishart group but was comforted by the fact that they still got together regularly. This is a terrible loss to our community.
