Francis Cormier Obituary

Francis J. Cormier lifelong resident of Fitchburg; 88 Fitchburg Francis J. Cormier, 88, died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at his home. He was the husband of Estelle I. (Lafleur) Cormier who died in August 2007. Mr. Cormier was born in Fitchburg, January 24, 1920, a son of Gedeon and Marie (Leger) Cormier and was a lifelong Fitchburg resident. For 45 years he worked at Simonds Saw & Steel in Fitchburg, retiring in 1982. During WW II Mr. Cormier served his country in the United Stares Army. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fitchburg. Mr. Cormier was an avid gardener and musician. He also loved carpentry and built his own home where he resided. He is survived by his daughter and caretaker, Janice F. Brunell of Fitchburg. He also leaves four grandchildren; Lyn Gallant and her husband Steve of Ashburnham, Diane Howard and her husband Richard of Fitchburg, Sheri Rivard and her companion James Girouard of Westminster, Tammy Mercer of Fitchburg and 14 great grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was the brother of the late Joseph Cormier, Raymond Cormier, Antoine Cormier, Clarence Cormier, Yvonne Richard, Beatrice Cadieux and Margaret Brazillion. CORMIER A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 15 at St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-7 Tuesday, October 14 at the Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg. Please see www.isabellefuneral.com for additional information.
