We are so deeply sadened by the loss of "Doc." What started as a Doctor/Patient relationship turned quickly into a friendship that has spanned the years. Having moved to Texas 13 years ago the news just got to us today (7/31) and we are speechless. The loss of this truly humble man is seen in Heaven as a Blessing. He IS flying in the Heavens as I write.

Will see you one day Paul.

Paul was a good friend of mine for over 20 years. We raced karts together, worked on his Pantera and his Trans Am project cars(he liked going fast),he started the Palm Bay Grand Prix. He made me laugh. He made me mad. He made me think. And now he has made me sad. I will always have great memories of our friendship.

A Major loss to the community. I owe very, very much to Doc V.. He never gave up and wouldn't let me give up either. He got me walking right again when others said it would never happen. When I needed him, It didn't matter where he was, He always showed up to help me. You could always count on him as a friend, A doctor, and at times to lend an ear. My son and I were at the Go-Cart races in '86. He liked to fly on the ground and in the air. He has definately earned his wings. I'm going to miss him dearly. Thank you for all your help with my son Kyle and ex-wife Cricket. I love ya Doc. My condolances to his mom and fiancee. I'm going to miss him.

Doc's Mom & Cheryl,

Doc and I have spent every Wednesday that we could for the past four years reminiscing about airplanes, old friends, war stories and good Thai food. We usually met at the Banzai to enjoy some of Andy's good cooking! Doc was not only a friend, but a brother. I will miss him.

I am an old friend from Shorter College and I met Paul my Freshman year. He was a caring and loving man and protective friend to a new little sister to the Phi Delt Fraternity. He was always the calm director at fraternity events, always a smile followed with good jokes. And what a great laugh! His Shorter friends are all in shock. My love and prayers to Cheryl and Paul's mother.

My introduction to Paul Vasconi was via the Air America Association newsletter I received May 2008. I am the descendent of an Air America pilot and I cannot begin to explain how excited I was to find that someone had taken on a project in appreciation of the Air America Veterans. Paul was a true patriot, he never once wavered from his belief that the C123 will fly again.

I consider Paul a friend and I am so sorry that he has gone on. He will be missed by all that knew him.

God Bless America and all the patriots that stand for it.
Especially Paul.

Paul is another example of the good die young. He was a very excellent and dedicated doctor. He was also a very excellent and dedicated private pilot. He was a good person, and a good friend. He will be missed by many. I am sure that there are many airstrips in heaven.

Paul Vasconi did more to advance the Good name of Air America than most Air America vets have done. I'm sure that God will provide a bunch or old aircraft to rebuild and all the spare parts and special tools you need. Have fun Paul You will be missed and never forgotten.

My nickname for Paul was "Magic Hands". I knew Paul 30yrs. We graduated from the same high school. Paul was a warm, kind, caring, giving individual. He was always positive and upbeat. Paul always spoke lovingly of his Mom and Fiancee, Cheryl. Anyone who knew him is grieving deeply at this way too early in life loss. God Bless you Paul, now you can truly Fly.
