Pearl Sheets Obituary

GRANITE FALLS - Mrs. Pearl Burgy Sheets, 89, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at her residence. She was born April 8, 1920, in Summit County, Ohio, to the late Wilbur Burgy and Olga Vongus Burgy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Sheets; a son, Bill Sheets; a daughter, Bev S. Gray; and a sister, Ilene. She is survived by two sons, Don Sheets and wife, Ruth, of Florida and Bob Sheets and wife, Gerry, of New York; a daughter, Sandy S. Bowman and husband, Danny, of Granite Falls; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Zula and Jean, both of Ohio. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at Mackie-High Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls, with the Rev. Dr. Norman Hubbard officiating. Memorials may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St., NW, Lenoir, N.C. 28645. Mackie-High Funeral Home is serving the family.
