Emma Louise Alm-Yalon Jan. 4, 1920 - Oct. 5, 2010 Resident of Livermore Emma Louise Alm-Yalon of Livermore, CA died on Oct. 5, 2010 at ValleyCare Hospital in Pleasanton. Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, Emma Lou married Rev. Arthur Alm, Sr in 1942. She was a pastor's wife for 42 years, serving Lutheran parishes in San Bernardino and San Leandro, California. She was an active spokeswoman for Lutheran Church Women for over 25 years. Rev. Alm pre-deceased Emma Lou in 1984. In 1985, Emma Lou married JeromeYalon, Sr., a pharmacist and college administrator. They lived in Lake Tahoe, Auburn, and Rocklin before settling in Livermore. Jerome pre-deceased Emma Lou in 2000. Emma Lou was an active caregiver, a painter, a square dancer, and made many friends wherever life's journeys took her. She is survived by her two children, Arthur Alm, Jr. of Livermore, and Linda Leigh-Kendall of Apache Junction, AZ. She had 5 grandchildren: Erik Alm, Cara Taylor, Victor Alm, Sharon Moore, and Travis Moore, and eight great-grandchildren. Her surviving step-children are Michael Yalon of Florence, MT, Vincent Yalon of San Francisco, Mary Huber of Umpqua, OR., Jerry Yalon, Jr. of Livermore, CA John Daishin Yalon of Mt. Shasta, CA, and Jean-Marie Yalon-Owens of Mt. Shasta, CA. and their children and grandchildren. Cremation and interment are at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, CA. Services are pending.
