Carol Jean DeCruz

Carol Jean DeCruz Resident of Castro Valley Entered peacefully into rest at her Castro Valley home on November 23, 2010. She was 68 years old. Born in Oakland, CA on November 9, 1942, Carol was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's High School and a parts manager at Golden Gate Truck Center for over 29 years. She was a devoted parishioner and sacristan at Our Lady of Grace Church who enjoyed collecting dolls, and shopping on QVC. Carol enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and caring for her beloved dog, Baby Love. She was treasured by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Carol is survived by her son, Ronald DeCruz Jr. of Castro Valley; sister, Frances L. Hammond of Vancouver, WA; brother, Ralph Roberts of Livermore; grandchildren, Emily DeCruz, Ryan DeCruz and Vanessa Goodner and many cherished extended family and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald DeCruz Sr. in 2000 and sister, Mary Perry, also in 2000. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3433 Somerset Ave., Castro Valley. Carol will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
