Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this month and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Timmy James Millsap US Army 1st Sergeant.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Millsap was my Drill Sgt in 1997 at Fort Leonard Wood...Years later, I would learn of his ultimate sacrifice. I am honored that I have a photo of him pinning me on Graduation day.

Thinking of him on this Memorial Day weekend...God Bless his family. He is never forgotten!

MSG Millsap was a great man. I was with him in Kuwait in 2001. I didn't realize something until I had left Ft Riley. I thought he actually did not like me. Turns out he was making me a better soldier. I didn't go to Iraq with him, i had moved and ended up going to Afghanistan. MSG I thank you for molding me into the soldier you knew I could be.

Hey Timmy, say your face on TV in 2005 when the media was caring and posting the faces of our fallen. I was a Jarhead that joined the Army and you took care of me. Thanks Brother, I think of you always and I will see you again. Sgt Bruce P. Munro

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers today.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Timmy, but I am remembering on
this day he gave his all.
He is my hero.

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

To the Millsap Family:
I was stationed with 1SG Millsap during this tour in Iraq. I was deeply sadden the day I went to the motorpool and was told of the tragedy. I met him during our first tour in OIF I, at the time he was the Brigade Equal Opportunity Representative. He was a kind and gentle man who believed in upholding the Army Values and giving each and every soldier the same treatment. He loved his job and providing soldiers with outstanding leadership. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and may God bless you and keep you.

I served with Tim in the 1st Engineer Batalion, at Ft. Riley. He was my Platoon Sgt at that time. I was deeply sadened to learn of his death. I will always remember Tim for his strong leadership and his will for his men to always give 100 percent, as he did. Tim, you will be missed and never forgotten.

To Allyne, to Deanna, and to those much are closer than I; to Timmy.
It has taken decades to find you, a couple of Christmas cards a long while ago, days of research, and hours to think. As I reflect, I aim to type a worthy compilation - and hopefully appropriate message – obviously way too late for me.
Only if I had known…
Having served alongside Timmy in West Germany a very very long time ago, along the East German (DDR) border; for me there was a clear mix of pure professionalism with a great sense of humor - and more importantly – dignity – in Timmy’s demeanor, and everything he did.
Thoughts: As I look back, Soccer matches against the very best, inches from the East Germany border. A broken leg came later in another ordeal – and a new word came into our vocabularies – “Krankenhous” (sp). Later, Deanna came along. Challenges – was all what is was, and Timmy showed everyone how to hack through it all.
For some reason we also hack through life, no matter where we are, and expect those who might not be in such good contact, and in Timmy’s case, with very good reason; it is tragic to find out such news.
So I offer the Millsap’s friends and family my deepest sympathies from where I live now- Spain. I would like to finish with a quote from my own younger brother, who visited Bad Hersfeld – where we served – as advice for the the next generation:
“[11:00:55 PM] Luke Polansky HOME says: tell her (Allyne) that your brother .... who never served... holds a man who he never met in the highest respect –
[11:01:08 PM] Luke Polansky HOME says: and he has bought our freedom”
Go Red Devils….

1SG Millsap was a great NCO. He had this sense of humor that made soldiers respect his leadership, and follow him in every way. I was one of his soldiers, worked with him every day. He could never stop talking about family and friends back home. I would not have gotten my recent promotion, had it not been for his guidance. I was there in the end, and First Sergeant, you will never be forgotten. A prime example of what us young soldiers look up to.

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of arth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wing; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds---and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of--wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air, Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue. I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace Where never lark, or even eagle floew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod the high, untrespasses sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God. Prayers are with you.

Dear Family and Friends of Tim Milsap,

Tim was certainly a very special man, who knew the true meaning of being a friend. He was loyal. He was funny. He was inspirational by doing the little things that make a person feel important, wanted and loved. Tim was my partner in Lads and Lasses, the choral group at Truesdell Junior High and we had quite a good time singing, dancing and laughing together. He was ornery--he DEFINED ornery. How lucky I am to have spent time with him.

To the Millsap family,

TIm and I went to Truesdell and South together. I would consider him one of my best friends. We lost touch after he joined the Army. I have always thought of him as we plan our class reunions. I always new he would grow up to be a great man. I am just sorry that I didn't get a chance to tell him how proud I am for him and of him. The one thing I do remember of Tim is that he and I always had a little joke between the two of us in school. As we left G hall to go to class from our lockers he would say "Love you Nat", and I would say back to him "Love you too, Tim". Then we would walk off to class. The world is a better place for his presence and when I look across the street at the soccer field at South, I will remember him fondly and feel him close to us. I pray that the pain of your loss eases with time and memories. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

With my deepest sympathy,

Dear Kenny, Rosie, Sherry, Alynn and Deanna,

I have always thought of Timmy as a brother and a friend. I can remember countless adventures we shared as kids living across the street from one another in Wichita...from the halloween scares to the sweet way Timmy would walk me to class everyday of my second grade year at Cessna elementary (he thought I couldn't find my way and I just felt special having a "big kid" walk me to class, especially Timmy). I also remember the wild times we had when Sherry would babysit Robert and I and of course Timmy came along. He was a truly special person. I have 2 little girls who have just this current season learned of the joys of playing soccer, I have told them about Tim and what a great player he was, my oldest daughter really wanted to meet him some day. I recently lost my husband due to illness and although no one can know the depth of YOUR pain, please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. My mother (Barbara Dorrell) thought of Tim as another son and she sends her prayers also. Tim was a wonderful person who touched many lives and he will always be remembered as a brave and caring hero who is greatly missed. God Bless.
