SALYER, Betty Jane

Betty Jane Salyer, 85, of Springfield, passed away

December 9, 2020, at Good Shepherd Village. She was born June 18, 1935, in Springfield, the daughter of Fred and Cora (Herzog) Burkhardt. Betty was a big-time lover of animals, and she enjoyed working on puzzles, both jigsaw and crossword. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Elza Hager Salyer; three children, Belinda (Mitchell) Williams, Elza James Salyer, and Joy (Agustin) Nolasco; grandchildren, Russell (Christy) Williams III, Rob (Ally) Allison, and Tayler Bailey; great-grandchildren, Jacob Williams, Brooke Norton, Liam

Allison, and Jason Allison; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. A private gathering will be held to celebrate Betty's life.

Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Condolences may be shared at

www.jkzfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the animal charity of the donor's choice.
