Newt THORNSBURY Obituary

THORNSBURY, Jr., Newt

Age 63 of Springfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at his home. He was born on October 14, 1957, to Newt Thornsbury, Sr. and the late Donna (Lundy) Thornsbury in Springfield, Ohio. In addition to his father, Newt is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Sherry (Roby) Thornsbury; daughter, Melissa (Duane) Capper; son, Newt

(Pamela) Thornsbury III; grandchildren: Tyler Thornsbury, Tara Capper, Sophia Thornsbury, and Hunter Thornsbury as well as his great-granddaughter, Paisley Crable. He also leaves behind his siblings: Johnny Thornsbury, Donna Payne, and Bobby Thornsbury; sisters-in-law: Susan Rife, Paula (Bill) Stitzel, Carla Kronk, Cindy Shaw and Jackie Young and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Newt is preceded in death by his mother; Sherry's parents, Carl & Mary Roby; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bickle. Newt retired from Waste

Management after 35 years of dedicated service. He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed hunting. More than

anything, Newt loved his family and cherished the time he was able to spend with them. Due to COVID-19 and these

unprecedented times, a celebration of Newt's life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Cancer Center in his honor. Condolences are
