Having just learned of Tony´s passing today I wanted to extend my sincere condolences. He was a colleague on the CCSPD and a mentor. I enjoyed his cavalier outlook on life and approach to the many job related peculiarities we encountered over the years. I´ve never seen him upset, and his compassionate demeanor was an asset to his gentle character in all regards. When he retired I missed him, and now shall remember him fondly.

My codolences to Tony's family and friends. My cousin just sent me Tony's obituary. I had no idea he passed away. I was a brand new police officer in 1988. I lived far south on the Indiana State line. I was sent everyday up to Palatine which took me about an hour and 20 minutes. You have to pay your dues. That is where I first met Tony. He was an "old timer" so we called anyone who had been on the job for quite awhile. Some you couldn't even ask a question, but not Tony. He was always so nice and knowledgeable. He never minded us newbees asking a ton of questions. He always had a smile and an answer for us. Through the years I got moved further south in the county and was on the south band of our radio so I didn't hear Tony's voice on the radio either.
I am now happily retired from the Sheriff Police dept with 30 years on the job, I will never forget the kindness that Toney showed me when I was brand new.
God bless you all. You had a wonderful man for a father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
