Tom, I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to you and your family from all of mine. We greatly enjoyed the experience of many years as Timrick Place neighbors with Darlene and family and our children spent much of their "growing up" years together. I will always fondly remember her wide smile when she greeted anyone...it was a treasure. She will be greatly missed. May GOD bless you and yours and give you strength. Charles Slusher

I taught third grade with Darlene at Hayes Elementary during the beginning of my career. Staff and students alike absolutely LOVED Mrs. Beatty! She put together, and taught a History of Hamilton unit that was extraordinary! We took a field trip at the end of the unit, and I can still see Mrs. Beatty standing at the front of the school bus, pointing out landmarks and singing with the kids, songs that she had taught them about important people and places. That was the kind of energy she brought to her students, and let me tell you, it really made the learning stick! Hayes was a special place to teach and to learn, and Mrs. Beatty was a big reason why! My deepest sympathy to her friends and family.

You were my 3rd grade teacher at Hayes Elementary School in 85-86 when I was 9 years old. I will never forget you! You were such an amazing teacher and absolutely one of my favorites!! We were blessed to have a teacher like you, there are very few good teachers now adays. I still have my reward certificate for learning all of the States and Capitals and remember you gave us a Mars Candy Bar with our certificate and remember you teaching us cursive. You will be missed. Darlene Beatty was my cooperating teacher in the fall of 1976 at Hayes in first grade. Her smile, love for her students and enthusiasm for teaching made a huge impact on my 21 year old life. I credit her for a long and wonderful teaching career of 28 years. I also remember her love for her three young children. My condolences for the family’s loss!
