Edwin Fry Obituary
Fry, Edwin L. "Ed", 89, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was born September 1, 1935, in Springfield to the late Carl and Mildred Haerr Fry. Ed is reunited in the heavenly embrace of his parents, sister, Elinor Fry Morgan and two of his children, Lisa Fry Fitzsimmons, and Jimmy Fry. Left to honor Ed's memory are his wife of 68 years, Donna Fry; child, Patty Fry Whitley (Patrick); grandchildren, Ambyr Hogue (Lee), Aaronn Haerr (Angie), Patrick Barton, Dakota Fry, Kelly Miller (Andy), Raechel Fry, Paige Schwarz, Kyle Whitley (Colby), Seth Fry (Savanah), Shane Fry and Madisyn Fry; 18 great grandchildren and extended family members and friends. Ed was a modest man, dedicated community servant, faithful friend and loved his family unconditionally. He served in the Army, Army Reserve and Air National Guard; was a Freemason; retired after 44 years from Ohio Bell; served over 40 years on the Harmony Township Fire Department; was a member of the United Church of South Vienna; former Northeastern School Booster; and served on/supported many other groups. A Memorial to celebrate Ed's life will be held at 12 pm Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Harmony Township Fire Department, 11000 E. National Road, South Vienna, OH 45369. Visitation with family will be from 10am-12pm with the service to immediately follow.
The family extends appreciation to Mercy Health; Care 360 Hospice; United Church of South Vienna; Harmony Township Fire Dept; and Springfield Church of Christ.
