Ronald Petry Obituary

Petry, Ronald

age 83, passed away Wednesday, Jan 8, 2025. Ron was born in Richmond, Indiana in 1941 to Willis and Helen (Watts) Petry. He was a graduate of Jackson School in Campbellstown, Ohio. After graduation, Ron entered into the USAF where he served for 22 years active duty. His assignments included Mountain Home, Idaho, Naha Okinawa and a tour in Vietnam. His last assignment was with "Project Speckled Trout", a special organization at Andrews AFB, Maryland. While serving, he received his bachelor 's degree in Business. Ron was blessed to experience many opportunities to travel the world while proudly serving his country for his entire career. He continued to devote his career and education to the civilian and contract sector for a total of 42 years. He had a personable nature, vast knowledge of countless hobbies and love of sport. He spent many hours coaching children in bowling, baseball and soccer. Ron was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Dayton, serving in many positions at the church. Ron is survived by his wife, Diana, and children Todd, Shawn (Dulce) and Aimee Jo. Grandchildren: Marley Leach, Griffin Leach and Isabelle Petry. Ron is also survived by his brothers, Kendall (Ann) Petry and John (Cheryl) Petry. Services will be held on January 18, 2025 at First Baptist Church, 111 W. Monument Street, Dayton Ohio, Visitation will be at 10 am with Services starting at 11 am. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, or the Humane Society of Dayton, Ohio.
