Michael David Petry

Michael David Petry, a beloved step father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at the age of 63, due to natural causes. Born on March 12, 1962, in Flint, Michigan, Michael embraced life with a passion that was felt by all who knew him. He spent his formative years exploring the open roads and cultivating a deep love for motorcycles, earning the endearing title of "gearhead." Among his many two-wheeled companions, he cherished his Honda CBX, which was more than just a motorcycle-it was a symbol of freedom and adventure.  Michael's life was marked by a dedication to his craft as a CNC programmer for Richards Industries in Hyde Park. For many years, he brought precision and artistry to an industry that thrived on innovation. His meticulous work ethic and problem-solving skills made him a respected figure in the field, where he earned the admiration of colleagues and friends alike.In the quieter moments of life, Michael found joy in long distance bike rides, relishing the exhilaration of the open road and the wind upon his face. These experiences fed both his adventurous spirit and deep appreciation for the beauty surrounding him. He leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by his former spouse Julie Blue, step children Elaina Knabe and Justin (Carrie) Eshelman; grandchildren, Emma, Flynn, Ava, Callie, Cynthia, and his four-legged buddy Mr. Marley Pickles.  Their laughter and loving memories will keep his spirit alive, and he will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Michael was preceded in death by: sister Michelle Tarvin, parents Wayne & Marilyn Petry.Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Miamiville. Michael David Petry, may you ride in peace along the eternal highways. You will be missed dearly.
