KARSTENS, Jack

Age 93, of Englewood, OH, passed away on January 13, 2025, at Hospice of Miami County in Troy, OH, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born on July 25, 1931, in Elmhurst, IL. He was the son of the late Mildred E. Sneddon. Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred E. Sneddon; an infant son, Craig Karstens and an infant granddaughter, Cindy Brumbaugh. Jack was retired from Harris Graphics Co. of Dayton, as a plant personnel Manager. He also volunteered with AARP as a driver's training instructor and was part of the Dayton Metro Parks as a bicycle patrol rider. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1952-1956. Jack and his wife were long time members of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon (Marzolf) Karstens; son, Kurt Karstens (Carole) of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Karen Brumbaugh (Delvin) of Arcanum, OH; grandchildren, Jack Karstens, Katie Karstens, Gwen & Simon Boone and Shelly & Jason Garber; sister, Pat Grossi of New Jersey and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Duane & Kathy DuBois of New York. Visitation for Jack will be on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 1p.m.–2p.m. at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, 204 N. Main St. Arcanum, OH 45304, with a memorial service to follow at 2p.m. Memorial gifts can be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 9100 North Main St. Dayton, OH 45415.
