Larry Eikenberry Obituary

Eikenberry, Larry Leon

Larry Leon Eikenberry, 80, of Bradenton, Florida, passed peacefully on February 2nd, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 18, 1944, to Paul S. Eikenberry and Mary Jane Eikenberry (Gwin) of Union, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Doris (Eikenberry) Dohrman, and his brother, Gary Eikenberry. Larry enjoyed a wide range of hobbies. He was an avid fisherman and a skilled soccer referee for forty years. He also enjoyed raising rabbits with his children as part of their 4-H activities. A graduate of Xavier University, his career led him to Dayton, Cincinnati, and Westerville, Ohio, and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, before retiring to Inverness, Florida. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Nancy (Bowman) Eikenberry; his children, Eric Eikenberry and Alissa Powers; and his beloved grandchildren, Kiera Powers, Bridget, Naomi, and Jack Eikenberry. Larry's kindness, intelligence, humor, and commitment to family and community will be deeply missed. A committal service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Bethel Cemetery in Englewood, Ohio.
