Hans Bruntjen Obituary
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, at the Galilean Lutheran Church, Hwy 18 W., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Jeff Ungs officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Galilean World Hunger Appeal.
Hans was born March 18, 1920, in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany, the son of Hermann and Helene (Diers) Bruntjen. He came to this country in 1949 with his wife and daughter. Hans' greatest enjoyment was fishing in Canada and woodworking.
Hans is survived by his wife, Ilse; daughters, Jean, Katherine and Teresa; two grandchildren: Tara and Andy; three great-grandchildren: Morgan, Maddison and Taiyo; and many friends.
Arrangements are with the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake.

I will miss you Hans!! He always gave me a giant hug at the Town Pump and was so happy to see me. It was wonderful having you, Ilse, and Hans at our wedding.
No one can replace his jovial laugh and love of life!
They are definitely joyful in Heaven as they welcome him Home!

Hans and Isle have known me since I was a baby. They have been good friends with my grandparents. Hans will be greatly missed by all. You all all in my thoughts and prayers.

Even though I knew that some day the lord would take you from us, it is so sad that I won't any longer see your face and hear your wise words and philosophies. You were a wonderful friend and a blessing to me and everyone who knew you. You leave this world a better place than when you came. Goodbye Hans.

Hans,
The seafarer wrestles with the sails on the mystery of the sea. He has so many tales of times that were tranquil and times when he almost vanished in giant waves and strong gales. But most of all he tells of times he was saved by Gods strong hand that never fails.
Thanks for being a teacher of life.

I heard a lot about the fishing trips in Canada and knew that Hans really enjoyed them. He will be missed by his friends for sure.
