BUCHANAN - Jacquelyn "Jackie" Scroggins, 61, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Jackie was born October 13, 1945, in South Bend, to Arthur and Dorothy Lunog of Buchanan. She was chosen as the 1963 Miss Buchanan and graduated from Buchanan High School that same year. She attended Ferris State College and, on June 24, 1967, she married Jerry Scroggins of Buchanan. Jackie was a full-time homemaker so she could be very involved in her two daughters' lives. Jackie enjoyed spending time with friends, family and attending any activity in which her grandchildren were involved. Jackie will be deeply missed by her husband, Jerry Scroggins; two daughters, Jill (Craig) Hubble of St. Joseph, MI and Julie (Dan) Bihlmeyer of Maumee, OH; three grandchildren, Connor, Gavin and Makayla; a brother, Eugene (Janet) Lunog of Buchanan, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. Jackie was preceded in death by her father Arthur Lunog in 1980 and mother Dorothy Lunog in 1994. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on May 20, 2007, in Swem Funeral Home, 301 Front Street, Buchanan, MI. The Celebration of Life Service will be held May 21 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 212 W Front Street, Buchanan. Rev. Thomas Nowak of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Dr. Rev. Robert Hartwell (nephew), of Bronxville, NY will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan.
