Frank M. Inamasu, of Stockton, CA, age 94, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2007. He was born on July 15, 1913 in Oakland, CA. At age 3 years, his family moved to Japan where he was raised and graduated from high school. In 1929 his family returned to the U.S. and settled in Stockton, where he graduated from Stockton High School, class of 1937. He then attended watch-making school in San Francisco. Soon after his family was sent to the relocation center in Rohwer, Arkansas during World War II, where he was also married. Upon their return to Stockton, Frank worked as a watch maker, and soon became self-employed, opening Inamasu Jewelers for over 46 years, until retiring in 1993. He was a long time member of the Stockton Buddhist Temple, founding member of the Stockton Nisei Golf Club, Stockton J.A.C.L., member and past president of Fukuoka Nikkeijin Kai, and an avid golfer.
"Frank was loved by many, and will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him."
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Leona Inamasu of Stockton; son, Donald Inamasu; daughter, Laura Inamasu, and a daughter-in-law, Liz Vizcarra all of Stockton. Also a sister and brother-in-law, Aya and Jack Mizono of San Francisco, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by a son, Thomas Inamasu, and siblings, Mas and Shig Inamasu, and Barbara Tajima.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 11, 2007, 3:00 p.m. at the Stockton Buddhist Temple, private inurnment will be held in Park View Cemetery. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his memory to Stockton Buddhist Temple, 2820 Shimizu Dr, Stockton, CA 95203, or to St. Joseph's Medical Center, 1800 N. California St, Stockton, Ca 95204.

Farewell Mr. Inamasu. Thank you for the gift of love you’ve left the world in your children. I know one of them. People this good are not raised by mistake but rather by example.
