Hello,
We apologize for being so late in expressing our deepest condolences to you and your family. We want you to know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this holiday season and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Dominic Rocco Rocky Baragona US Army Lieutenant Colonel.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families, friends and others who support our mission.

I first met Rocky when he was only 7 or 8, full of life like all the Baragona children. But later in life after West Point I had the privilege to talk to Rock at a wedding somewhere. I realized that just after a few minutes that I was talking to someone special. Some people are like that. Rocky sure was. My heart broke when we got the news especially for the family also. May God bless him forever. Amen

LTC Baragona, I served under you in OIF1. I was supposed to be in the HMMWV with you that tragic day you passed. I am forever haunted by the fact you are no longer here with us. As your Soldier, I felt you were complicated but in the end you were a whole different leader. You got to know who I was and about my position. I was your translator. I will always miss you and I will always salute you. I have gone through so much since you have passed and sometimes I wonder if it is because I cheated death. My health has been horrible...sometimes I wish it would have been me. I know your sacrifice and I can only pray that God took you quickly. You are never forgotten!

Kinda crazy 9th anniversary...We visited you on the 16th and 17th...On the 19th mom and I were in a Rolling Thunder parade honoring POW and MIA veterans...And yesterday, the actual day we found out you were killed, a flagpole from Flags For Fallen Military was put in our front lawn...You are never forgotten...Love, Mom and Dad....

I never had a chance to meet Rocky, but Dave was by my side when my brother was killed in 1988. From my family to yours, our heart felt sympathy are with you. Remembering Dominic will be easy. It's always easy to remember our hero's.

I served with LTC Baragona when he was a captain assigned to B co 55th Spt Battalion in Germany. He provided great leadership and numerous words of encouragement that I continued to carry forward both during the rest of my miltary career and now in the private sector. He is a great Amercian that will forever be missed.

I served under the command of, then, Captain Baragona in Neu-Ulm Germany. Rocky was the Commander of Bravo Company, 832nd Ord. Bn., 56th F.A. Bgde. (PERSHING). He was a fine Commender and was respected by his troops.

Dear relatives of Dominic "Rocky", my son SSGT Russell J. Verdugo is buried in Arlington National Cemetery along with your hero. I took some photos last Memorial Day Week-end 2007 and have a photo of your Dominic’s grave site and marker. If you would like a copy emailed to you, please let me know. I know we are so very proud of our fallen heroes, but we miss them so.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

It is an honor to pay tribute to this Brave Soldier, with a Multitude of Thanks, for his Courage, Dedication and Many Years of Service to our Country and for Freedom.
Those who Made these Sacrifices, shall Never Be Forgotten, my brother among them. Killed in action in Vietnam in 1967.
May you find peace in knowing the love and memories you have, will remain in your heart forever and that this Country Remembers Dominic's Sacrifice.

It looks like there have been no entries for quite a while. I hope this finds the Baragonas all in good health. I went to Mt Carmel with Dominic and was very saddened by his passing. He was always an honorable person. I will never forget his and your sacrifice.

I knew LTC Baragona well. He was my commander, my mentor and friend. He was very hard on his junior officers becaues he expected the best. I understood that. I continue to pass on the lessons he taught to my junior officers. I just wish he was still around to teach me more.

I have been scrolling through our heros on this Memorial Day Eve. I must say I am very touched by each and every entry I have come across. I am especially touched by this hero, so dedicated to the cause. I can tell this was a great man. I only hope we have more to follow in his footsteps!
