Paul Crago Obituary

Paul Harold Crago, age 84, Topeka died June 20, 2008 at Midland Hospice. Mr. Crago was an Appliance Service and Test Lab Technician for the Kansas Power and Light Company for 36 years before he retired in 1987. He was born December 9, 1923 in Topeka, the son of George and Estella Porter Crago. He spent his life in Topeka. Mr. Crago was an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II having served in the South Atlantic. He was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church. He was married to Virginia Ellis September 9, 1946. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Sherry Burgen and her husband Kenny, a son, Dan Crago and his wife Gayle, both of Topeka, four grandsons, Doug Rake, Kevin Rake, Michael Crago, all of Topeka and Brad Crago of Carbondale, one granddaughter, Lisa Cooper, of Topeka and 9 great-grandchildren. Mr. Crago will lie in state after 12:00 noon Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Mt. Hope Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Oakland United Methodist Church, 801 N.E. Chester Avenue, Topeka, KS 66616.
