My condolences to you, Peter and family, on the passing of Michael. I enjoyed working with him for something like 17 years, and especially remember fondly when he and I shared an "office" (???) next to the furnace in the Elwell house

"How do you draw that ellipse?" Mike asked me as we sat at one of the long tables in the library at Blake in autumn 1961. That memory shows me that he was humble and open enough to ask how to do something.

I remember Mike from our high school days --Blake class of '62. Mike was a top student, captain of the baseball team, and all-around great guy. His witty humor helped us get through the day, and we all valued his friendship.

I graduated from Blake with Mike in 1962. I remember Mike as a very caring, energetic, and intelligent guy. Though I never kept in contact with Mike after graduation, I was very saddened to hear of his passing, and I send my condolences to his family and friends.

I remember Mike as the guy who excelled at the guy things - shooting pool, fly fishing, poker, ping-pong. Spent many a happy hour with him doing that stuff on long winter weekends. I have fond memories of a good and kind person, neighbor, and high school classmate. Peace, brother.

Mike and I attended Stanford at the same time and began flyfishing together in the spring of 1963. Although I didn't see alot of Mike after we graduated in 1966, we stayed in touch and had a "reunion" on the Big Horn River in Montana with Harry Piper, Jr. in May 2001. We had a wonderful time together. I shall miss him very much.
