Paul Joseph Pflaum, 72, passed away from natural cause on October 1, 2024, in Oak Ridge, TN. Born on April 28, 1952 in Dayton, OH.
After graduating from Fairmont West High School in 1971, Paul honorably served in the United States Navy until 1975. He was stationed at North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego, California, where he worked as an Aviation Ordnance 2nd Class with Squadron VC3, loading the C-130s. His commitment and skills were a testament to his dedication and discipline.
Following his military service, Paul embarked on a career in aviation, joining Northwest Airlines at the Maintenance Base at Hartsfield International Airport (Atlanta, GA) as a technical writer. He held this position from 1987 until his retirement in 2001, contributing significantly to the field with his expertise and precision.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Pflaum of Oak Ridge, TN, and his two daughters, Kirsten (Jason) of Jackson, GA, and Kristine (Joshua) of Kathleen, GA. He was a proud grandfather to Jocelyn and Aden. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, James J. Pflaum and Agnes Murphy Pflaum, as well as his siblings, Sheila, Suzie, and Jimmy.
In accordance with his wishes, no memorial services will be held. Paul's legacy will live on through the cherished memories of his family and friends
