Behrendt, Darryl A. "Buster"

Darryl A. "Buster" Behrendt, age 76, of 559 S. Main St., Apt. 1, Mishicot, former Two Rivers resident entered into eternal life on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at the Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc surrounded by his loving family.

Buster was born on Oct. 16, 1934, in Two Rivers to the late Arthur and Violet Lyons Behrendt and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1952. He served his country for five years in the United States Air Force. Buster married the former Marlene Fisk on Dec. 23, 1967, in Manitowoc. He was employed as a shipping and receiving clerk for the Wisconsin Protective Coating Co. in Green Bay for many years. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed following the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife, Marlene; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kelyn Netz of Oak Creek, Katina and Brian Shallue, of Mishicot; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Terry and Debbie Kawasaki, of Ohio, Dan Behrendt, of Sturgeon Bay, Darrin and Lisa Behrendt, of Minnesota, Dean and Becky Behrendt, of Bay City, Wis.; twelve grandchildren, Joshua Kawasaki, Justin Behrendt, Christopher and Erin Netz, Stephen and Kaylena Behrendt, Austin Fritz "Behrendt", Alexis and Lucas Shallue, Kacie and Kelcie Shimulunas "Shallue", Ethan Behrendt. He is further survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kay (Larry) Sr. Feest, of Two Rivers, Meri Dee (James) Lemberger, of Manitowoc; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Garth (Diane) Behrendt, of Michigan, Bruce (Charlotte) Behrendt, of Texas, Kip (Elizabeth) Behrendt, of DePere; aunt and uncles Joyce and Frank Welnicke, of Two Rivers, Al Behrendt, of Two Rivers; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, 2801 Garfield St., Two Rivers, with Pastor Kim Henning officiating. Relatives and friends may call after 1 p.m., on Sunday, at the church until the time of service at 2 p.m. The family would like to express a very special thank you to Pastor Kim Henning, the Mishicot Area Ambulance, Tanya with the Holy Family Home Health Care, the nurses and staff of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center 5th floor and especially to Dr. Lynn Baatz and her amazing staff at the Holy Family Cancer Care Center, and the Hamilton Care Center, for all of the loving care given to Darryl and our family during his illness. Your kindness will always be remembered in our hearts.
