James Allen "Jimmy" BRYANT

BRYANT James Allen "Jimmy", died Sun, April 15, 2012 at Kenwood Rehabilitation Center in Richmond, KY. He was born in Lexington, KY on Mar 6, 1931 to the late Alma Dougherty and James Maxey Bryant. He was 81 years old. He was a long time member of Christ the King Cathedral in Lexington and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus during his younger years. Jimmy loved to play golf, was an avid UK Wildcats fan and was a retired Allstate Insurance agent. He was the proud father of 12 children and loyal friend to the Chevy Chase community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann McCarthy Bryant, the mother of his 12 children; Linda Maupin Bryant, wife and care-giver; brother, John Maxey Bryant; daughter, Laura Bryant Schenck; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lewis Bryant. Survivors include a sister, Mary Adele Boyle (Edmond) of Pairs, KY, a brother Mike Bryant (Diane), Atlanta, GA; daughters, Becky Maples, Winchester, KY; Sally Thompson (Don), Versailles, KY; Jane Consigli (Fred), Louisville, KY; Nancy Atkinson (Bill), Edgewood, KY; Fran Riddell (Mike), Lexington; Amy Petit (Kevin), Lexington; sons, Jim Bryant (Cathy); Joe Bryant (Kay), Charlie Bryant (Janet), Michael Bryant (Becky), Johnny Bryant (Margie) all of Lexington. He also leaves behind 38 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his friends from Suggins Restaurant in Lexington. Funeral services will be 10am Thu at Cathedral of Christ the King. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 4-8pm Wed at Milward-Broadway.
