Larry Houston Barnett

Larry Houston Barnett, 78, of Cynthiana, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was born in Paris, KY, on March 30, 1947, to the late James Barnett and Nannie Mae Winkler Barnett Smith. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his significant other, Ramona Ramsey; brothers, Ivan Barnett, Paul Barnett, Adrian Barnett, Leonard Barnett, and Jimmy Barnett; sisters, Betty Fleury and Bernice Linville.

Larry was a recipient of the Purple Heart, a Vietnam War veteran, and a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 257.

He is survived by a son, John Scott (Michelle) Perkins; brother, Gary Barnett; grandchildren, Jacob Perkins, Addison Perkins, and Iylie Perkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ware Funeral Home with visitation prior to service from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers for the Barnett family will be Dean Barnett, Doug Barnett, Jimmy Barnett, Dave Spurling, John Perkins, James Thomas Barnett.
