Ronald L. Hettinger

CHILLICOTHE: Ronald L. Hettinger, 66, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Monday evening, May 28, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 1, 1946 in Adelphi, OH, the son of Frank R. and Alice (Roe) Hettinger. On Apr. 7, 1972 he married Rosa L. Smith who survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Raven "Shelly" Hettinger and companion, Creston Shackleford, Chillicothe, Kathy Hettinger and Rhonda Hettinger, both of Circleville; sons, Ronald L. (Tammy) Hettinger, Jr., Chillicothe, Chad (Judy) Hettinger, Piketon and Jimmy (Alice) Hettinger, Chillicothe; a hoist of grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, Corbin Turner and Alyia Hopkins; a sister, Adrian (Leroy) Yates, Circleville; and brothers, Charles (Decie) Hettinger, Bainbridge, Edward (Pamela) Hettinger, Chillicothe and George (Darlene) Hettinger, Mesa, AZ. His parents, a sister and 3 brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Hettinger was an employee of Thomson Consumer Electronics, retiring in 2005. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 1, 2012 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bob Haddox officiating. Burial will follow in Soldiers Square, Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I some days remember spending many days with Ron milking cows and working on the farm I'm sure he will be sadly missed.
