Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Nathan S. Dalley
US Army Captain.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Over 1,850 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have some wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and only want you know that we care.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Kenna

In Memory of Nathan ~ (Debra Estep)
November 17, 2008
Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Nathan, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Dear Lord,
There's a young man or woman far from home, Called to serve their nation in time of war; Sent to defend our freedom on some foreign shore.
We pray You keep them safe, we pray You keep them strong, we pray You send them safely home, for they've been away so long.
Bless those who await their safe return, and those who mourn their lost. Bless those who serve this country well, no matter what the cost.
Thank You Nate for your service and your sacrifice on MY behalf and our countries behalf.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Le Ron A. Wilson (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Nate..it's with great sadness that I write this... I can't believe you're gone. You were a fellow "gopher" at school with me. You spent just as much time studying engineering/goofing off with my roommate in our room as I did studying! I felt like you were a fellow roommate :) You'll be missed.

Be Still
Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Nate~ I want to thank you for being such a sincere friend since early elementary school. You were one of my favorite buddies all those years and were always smiling and happy, no matter what. "Thank you" doesn't seem to correctly express how I feel for your sacrifice. You are noble, honorable, and greatly missed, but I know we'll see you again.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Capt. Dalley's passing. I was unaware of it until Feb. 27 when I read of it in the Ensign. Orien was a co-worker of mine when Nathan applied to West Point. I remember the family's pride in his being accepted, as well as joy in his graduation and service. May God comfort you in this time of grief with a sure knowledge of His mercy, love and promise of Eternal Life.

When our daughter Kristen, Nate's fiance, first introduced Nate to us we were so impressed with Nate's quiet strength. He treated our daughter with the admiration and respect read about in novels that describe the grandeur and glory of times long past. And we saw the love that our daughter had for Nate in her words, actions, and in her eyes. There is no greater sacrifice than giving one's life so others may live. Nate made this ultimate sacrifice for all of us. He is a hero that will forever live in our hearts. God bless you, Nate, you are missed.

SOME PEOPLE WALK IN AND OUT OF OUR LIVES, BUT THE ONES THAT LEAVE THE FOOTPRINTS AND THE MEMORIES ARE THE ONES THAT WE ARE BLESSED TO KNOW. I MET NATE WHEN HE CAME HOME WITH MY SON JEFF FROM WEST POINT. IT WAS A HONOR AND PLEASURE TO KNOW HIM AND HAVE SPECIAL MEMORIES. I'LL NEVER FORGET HIM. MY HEART HURTS FOR THE FAMILY AND KRISTEN. WHEN HE LOVED EVERYONE KNEW IT AND HE TRULY LOVED HIS FAMILY AND KRISTEN. WE KNOW THAT AN ANGEL SMILES DOWN ON US NOW. MY LIFE IS BLESSED TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SPEND TIME WITH NATE . GOD BLESS AND WATCH OVER YOU ALL

I will always remember Nate as a man who was full of integrity and honor - he was one of those few people you find in life who stands out in a crowd. In high school, Nate was known to love and respect those around him that were not always the most popular or accepted. He will never be forgotten by those who have been lucky enough to cross his path. May God bless his family and fiance at this difficult time.
