Neal Nye Obituary
Neal Patrick Nye, born February 28th, 1951 in San Antonio, TX went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 at the age of 62. He was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School. He married his childhood sweetheart Nancy on May 29, 1971. Neal was a 35 year veteran of the San Antonio Fire Department, 22 of those years served as a Battalion Chief. He was a Master Mason in good standing of Highland Hills Grand Lodge of Texas No.1373. He was also an active member of the Braun Station West HOA where he was the Vice President of the Board for three years. Neal was preceded in death by his parents Emery Duane and Elizabeth Louise Nye and brother, Joseph Allen Nye. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, son Duane Nye, daughter in law Lisa, son Wesley Nye, daughter in law Marilyn, daughter Virginia Vaughan, son in law David in addition to nine grandchildren. Siblings Betty Burrer, Barbara Cox, Walter Nye, Deborah Hill, Clayton Nye and Rex Nye.
SERVICES
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. A chapel service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with interment to follow at Mission Burial Park North. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital. You may sign the on-line guestbook at www.missionparks.com under the obituary section.

There are no right words to say to make the pain go away, there is only hope that each day will get better, and become a little easier to deal with. To my Uncle Neal, it truly breaks my heart that I didn't know you better. However, that does not mean that I didn't love you. May you rest in eternal peace. To my Aunt Nancy and family, I am truly sorry for your loss, you all have an amazing angel watching over you.

Neal was a dedicated individual who loved the San Antonio Fire Department, which meant that he loved helping people. I had the pleasure of working with him early on in my career. It was good to have someone like Neal working by my side, watching out for me. May he rest in peace.

Neal lived a life of service to others. As a fire fighter as a husband and a father. A man anyone would be proud of.
I was doubly blessed to have him as a brother.
