Olga Noronha de Souza

Olga, the daughter of the late Joao Noronha and the late Isaura Pereira, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2018 with her daughters at her side.
She was born in Reis-Magos, Goa and attended the Portuguese Primary / Secondary School & Modern High School. She enjoyed her youth with her younger brothers, Basil and Antonio Noronha and sisters, Filomena Carvalho and the late Emilia Lobo. Olga was very talented and artistic. She could knit, crochet and sewed her own original dresses. She was an amazing cook and baked original cakes for her twins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
As a young student, she dreamed of seeing the world and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, South America, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean and China. She made pilgrim visits to Medjugorje, Israel, Guadalupe and Fatima. Olga had a giving heart and you only had to ask her for her help. She strongly advocated for the poor and suffering and donated to those in need. She worked at the Portuguese Consulate for 34 years.
She was married to the late Michael (Mackey) de Souza for 54 years. Olga and Mackey began their married life in Nairobi, Kenya where they celebrated the birth of their twins, Marilyn and Miriam. They immigrated to the U.S. via London & Los Angeles.
Olga leaves behind her loving daughters, Marilyn and Miriam; son-in-law, Colin; grandchildren, Marco and Melina; brothers: Antonio (Portugal) and Basil (San Leandro); sister, Filomena (Reis-Magos, Goa); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends around the world.
Friends are invited to visit Monday, January 22, 2018 at 6pm and attend a Vigil Service at 7pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 10am at Duggan's Serra Mortuary. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Anthony, St. Jude or a charity of your choice.
