Your Dad was a talented, hard-working man who was beloved by the Wittenberg community. Rufus was a stickler for detail. Each year, he precisely measured the chair spacing for the Commencement and woe anyone who didn’t follow suit! Because I ran the Human Resource Department, I had the pleasure of seeing him during his retirement years. Rufus always gave me a big hug and would sit and talk with me for awhile - he made me laugh! He talked often about your mom and his devotion to her was well known. Like so many others, I had high regard for your Dad.
I was saddened to learn of his passing. Please accept my condolences.

Pam, Nancy and Mark. Thinking of you during this time. While saddened, I know being reunited with Donna, Gary and Trent is a blessing! I know he and dad are already fishing and hunting and arguing about some stupid point!!!! I can’t tell you how many good memories I have of you all growing up. The ones that stand out with Rufus are drinking Goebels (my first beer!) in our living room and when he took just me Hunting and Fishing at Shumans. That was more special to me than he probably knew. It was also a great week of fishing when he came to Canada. Vivid, great and numerous memories! I also appreciate all of the golf balls and equipment he gave me over the years. Unfortunately, most of the balls hath since been deposited back into the water or woods! Non of that happens without the extraordinary friendship between Dad and Rufus. I love them both, miss them a lot and am happy he gets to be Dad’s fishing buddy until I can get there 30 or 40 years from now!
