Bob and Karen Webber
April 11, 2021
Bob and I met Daryl and Ethel back in 1992 when Bob transferred to El Paso with Customs. Daryl rented his apartment to our family, which included having room for my mare and her foal. We would have lovely dinners on their veranda enjoying a glass of wine and great company. Every dove season from then on until 2018, Daryl, Bob and their buddies would plan hunting trips to Texas and New Mexico. They hunted dove early mornings and late afternoons with a nap in between. On several occasions, Ethel and I would join them for a hike and wild flower picking until the sun went down. When the guys would return with their birds, we'd break out the beer for the guys and wine and cheese for us ladies, while we enjoyed the crisp evening air and incredible friends! Bob also has memories of countless fishing trips in the Gulf Coast with Daryl. Lots of fun times and a whole lot of laughter! Making memories which will withstand the hands of time.

Daryl and his wife, Ethel, were the first couple we met when we moved in next door and my wife and I knew in an instant they would be fantastic neighbors. They have bent over backwards to help us in every way possible since and I will never forget the numerous memories of fun times with the two of them, especially at their 50th wedding anniversary just a couple of years ago where we met several longtime friends of theirs that had flown in from both coasts to toast them and reminisce. My fondest memories of Daryl will be the countless times I would walk out of the house and hear him working in his workshop and walk over to see what great new woodworking masterpiece he had just designed and was bringing to life. Needless to say, I’m really going to miss him

So sorry to hear of Daryl's passing and my condolences to his family. I met Daryl many years ago playing softball in Austin's Senior Softball League. Daryl always had a happy and cheerful attitude and he was a great ball player. It was my pleasure and honor to have known Daryl. May he rest in peace!
