Lee Warren Snell, age 90, of Jamestown, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Miami Valley South Hospital in Dayton. He was born January 19, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence and Bessie (Farrenkopf) Snell. Lee was a 55-year member of the First Lutheran Church of Xenia. He was a lifetime farmer in the Jamestown area and was active in many social clubs and educational organizations. Lee was a 59 year member of the Jamestown Lion's Club; 25 year board member of the Greene County Educational Service Center with 19 of those years serving as President; 20 year member of the Educational Service Center for Ohio; 14 year 4-H Advisor; served 24 years as Ross Township Fiscal Officer; member of the Ohio School Board Association for 25 years; in 1987 he was awarded Outstanding Farm Bureau Leadership award; he was named Greene County Citizen of the year in 2019; and had driven a bus for Greeneview School District for 20 years. Above all, Lee was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he loved and adored his family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Opal G. (Long) Snell, to whom he married May 14, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio; four children, son and daughter-in-law Gary and Shelly Snell of Jamestown, their children Adam (Alexan) Snell of Montana, Andrew (Mandy) Snell of Illinois, and Trent Booth of Washington Court House, daughter Linda Cheney of South Charleston, her children Nicholas Cheney, Matthew (Emily) Cheney, and Katelyn Cheney all of South Charleston, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Greg Warnock of Jeffersonville, their children Bradley (Nicole) Warnock of Jeffersonville, Brittany (Jordan) Timmons of Springfield, Zachary Warnock of Jeffersonville, and Lindsey Warnock of Jeffersonville, and daughter and son-in-law Karen and Todd Reichley of Jamestown and their children Elizabeth Reichley of Beavercreek, William Reichley of Jamestown, and Lillian Reichley of Jamestown; four great grandchildren, Fiona Snell, Marion Snell, Emmett Cheney, and Brady Warnock; and the many friends and acquaintances he has made throughout his life. In addition to his parents, Lee is preceded in death by an infant daughter Sharon; brother Dale Snell; and son-in-law Scott Cheney. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Xenia. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the First Lutheran Church of Xenia, Pastor Willaim Schwochow will officiate. Burial will follow in the Grape Grove Cemetery. The family asks that memorial donations be made to the Columbus Ohio Ronald McDonald House, 711 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43205; the First Lutheran Church of Xenia, 287 W.
