William Smolinski Obituary
March 17, 1939 - August 11, 2022
William J. Smolinski, 83, died Aug. 11, 2022, at Stamford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 17, 1939, to John C. Smolinski I, and Helen Grabowski. He was predeceased by his sisters Frances (Elsie) Buckett and AnnMarie Greene and brothers John C. Smolinski II and Teddy Smolinski. He is survived by his sisters Jane Krajewski of Florida, Paula Hartlett of Stamford and brother Edward Smolinski of Florida, and several nieces and nephews along with dozens of God Children.
Billy attended Stamford Public Schools. At age 17 he joined the ARMY received his GED and became a Paratrooper in the 101'st Airborne Division. Billy worked with the Ironworkers and then started his painting company, honoring each Flagpole he painted. He loved the Freedom of the Sea was a Fisherman and Gardner, and since he was born on St. Patrick's Day he considered himself an Irishman and celebrated singing all the Irish and Patriotic songs he knew.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as Third Degree Knight.
Above all, he loved God, Country, and his Family. Billy was friends to many and will be dearly missed.
Services; Bosak's Funeral Stamford, CT Aug. 24 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. with
Knights of Columbus Service at 7 p.m.
Military Funeral at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Rocky Hill, CT the following day.
