Mary Hauser Obituary

Mary O'Conor Hauser
July 8, 1938 - December 4, 2022
Mary O'Conor Hauser, or Molly, as she was known to her friends, passed away peacefully at home on December 4, 2022.
Molly was born in San Francisco on July 8,1938 to Robin Holland and John O'Conor. She graduated from Westridge High School in Pasadena, California in 1956 and Stanford University in 1960.
A devoted San Franciscan, Molly began her philanthropic career with the Junior League. She went on to serve on the Board of Directors of Heritage House and Children's Hospital of San Francisco, for which she co-chaired the merger of Children's Hospital and Pacific Presbyterian Hospital in 1991, establishing California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC).
As a Stanford alumna, Molly was a director for the Cardinal Buck Club. She was also a generous sponsor of the Stanford women's golf team. More recently Molly was on the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Chapter of ARCS, Achievement Rewards for College Scientists.
Molly had a robust intellectual curiosity, and a great appreciation for culture and the arts. She was a voracious reader and loved to play bridge, mahjong and nine hole golf with her cherished friends. Molly was a frequent patron of the San Francisco Symphony and ballet. She also enjoyed the Sun Valley Writers Conference and Elko's Cowboy Poetry Gathering.
Molly was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is predeceased by her son, William West Hauser, and is survived by her sister Robin DeWitt, her daughters Robin Hauser, Victoria Hauser Winnick, (Michael); daughter-in-law Susan DePalo Hauser; and her 7 grandchildren: West and Charlie Hauser, Holland and William Reynolds, Philp, Mary and Kathleen Winnick.

Robin, I am so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of days spent with you and brother Bill. They continue to bring a warm smile to my face. Although many thousands of miles separate us physically, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. May the memory of your mom remain to lift and comfort you when you most need it.
Sincerely, Todd Coffin

Molly was a superstar. A great supporter of our Student-Athletes. The whole Stanford Athletics community will miss her and her graceful presence.

Molly was a very, very special person in our group of friends from Stanford....always a leader, always doing kind things for other. As I wrote to her a few years ago, always the most beautiful person in all ways in our very special group of friends.
