In 1976, Linda and I traveled through England, Europe, and Scandinavia for a total of six weeks. We visited Lois and Mike Yelland in England and traveled an itinerary that fellow teacher Pam Bousquet helped us plan. Linda was an adventurous travel partner and was always up for whatever new experience awaited. She always spoke highly of her sports teams players and truly enjoyed nurturing them. RIP, Linda.

Coach Stegner has been and will always be a friend who had a profound impact in my life. Coach Stegner was not only a great basketball coach but a wonderful person who cared deeply for her players. I was on the varsity girls basketball teams my freshman and sophmore years (1973-76), my junior year I did not play because I was pregnant. At a time when pregnancy was not as accepted as it is today and the principal wanted me sent to another school and not be allowed to play sports again, Coach Stegner would not hear of it. I am forever grateful for her support during a time when I was scared, and disappointed in myself, she was my encourager. She helped me hold my head high (I had been the President of my freshman and sophmore class) and so I continued to support my team and was able to attend the games and play my senior year. I wish that I could be there for the Celebration of her life today but I know that she has entered her eternal home in heaven and has finished the race victoriously! I am in Louisiana taking care of my grandkids but sending much love and prayers to her family. I love you Linda, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you did for me and for many.

Coach Stegner was one of the best individuals I have ever met. She was my coach at Greenon from 1974-1976. We were undefeated for those 3 years. We had talent, however we were nothing without coach. Coach taught us teamwork and how to work hard. She was all about sportsmanship.
I learned a lot from Coach that I still carry with me today. Coach was such a caring individual who cared more about everyone else than herself. I had moved away from Enon. I came back nine years ago and Coach found me on Facebook and we were reunited, what a great day that was. We would go out to eat from time to time or just get together and talk about old times or about god. We had some great talks. There is no doubt where she is right now. Coach I miss you so much, thank you for being a part of my life.
