Turner Hicks Obituary

Much beloved Father, Granddaddy, and Great-Granddaddy, Turner "Gene" Eugene Hicks, 90, passed away on January 7, 2024.

The great love of his life was Wilma Joyce McKemy. They met and married in 1955 while he was a young navy sailor on shore leave from the Korean War. Gene served his nation in the Korean and Chinese theaters and his decorations include a combat medal. After the Navy, Gene had a successful career, retiring after 40+ years as Vice President of American Stove Products, Inc. based in Memphis, TN. Even though Gene is no longer with us, his family will forever cherish the memories of his remarkable ability to love. Gene had a heart of gratitude and was satisfied with the life that God gifted him. His presence was a true blessing and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his son Tony (Lisa) Hicks, daughter Tammie (Tom) Hicks Gengo, grandchildren Chad (Jennifer) Gengo, Tommy (Lacee) Gengo, Rachel (Jared) Michael, Emma Hicks and eight great-grandchildren.
